Hany Ashamalla, MD, is a medical doctor and double board-certified diplomate in psychiatry, neurology, and brain injury medicine, with special qualifications in addiction medicine. He sees patients at Notre Dame Behavioral Health, in his two offices Peoria office and Surprise office, located in Surprise, Arizona.
Dr. Ashamalla graduated from the psychiatry residency program at the University Of Southern California and completed his training in one of the largest residency programs in the country at Los Angeles County Hospital and University of Southern California Medical Center, Los Angeles, California. He served as a chief resident during his final year. He has been in practice for over 20 years, both in the United States and abroad. He obtained two masters’ degrees in neuroscience and psychopharmacology. Dr. Ashamalla’s long expertise in the art of pharmacology and in managing different psychiatric disorders in adolescents, adults, geriatrics, complicated medical co-morbidities, and patients with special needs, gave him the ability to help thousands of patients throughout the years so they can lead productive careers, assume top positions, and lead prosperous lives. Dr. Ashamalla enjoys teaching medical students, PAs, and NPs. Dr. Ashamalla is an assistant clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Creighton University School of Medicine.
Dr. Ashamalla provided care for patients at SMI and private clinics, Honor Health System, and Banner Health on their inpatient, geriatric, and ICU/medical floor/observation floors since 2012. He also is affiliated with Valleywise Health (Maricopa Integrated Health System).
He is current affiliated with Banner Thunderbird Medical Center, Banner Del Webb Medical Center, and Banner Estrella Medical Center.
